Here at IH we like to think we do things a little differently from most equine businesses out there. Our goal has always been and will always remain to improve the welfare of horses, both ours and yours. It is for them that we stock the products we do, because we believe these products offer the best options out there to help keep horses happy and healthy; but don’t just take our word for it, spend a bit of time reading what our customers (and their horses) have to say about these products and our service.

Just to say we are delighted with Folly's new Cool heat rug. She is a rescued mare moved to a new field with Noddy her Shetland pal. She loves to roll but the new rug remains beautifully in place and is an excellent fit. Alison worked with Cynthia in Tasmania, so knew the benefits of the rugs first hand. We are pleased to recommend this rug and thank you for bothering to research the...

Thank you has arrived and a perfect fit. I bought one for my older horse last year and all he wore during wet days was his coolheat rug. His coat is amazing and no horrible dandruff for the first time in 16 years. Shows the effect of conventional rugs have on horses skin and coat.

I eventually got round to contacting you regarding the cool heat rugs I purchased from you a few months ago. I would just like to say thank you!!! They are fabulous and I have been recommending them to everyone. Not only do they do exactly what they are designed to do but they are of great quality and even though my boys play rough and usually have tears in their rugs made by the others teeth,...

I wanted to say a massive BIG thank you. The pee wee bit I bought from you last week has transformed my horse. Thanks again.

Such speedy delivery, and Sylvia was a joy to work with.  Thank you Intelligent Horsecare.

I bought my cool/heat rug along with a bottle of Bish as I knew I would be getting rips as the field my horse is kept in has barbed wire. I bought some horse rug patches (from ebay) to go with it. I have used Bish to patch many times since, it won't stick nylon to nylon, you need to use the 'rough' side of the patch but once it's stuck it's stuck. My rug has been through the wash and the patches...

The precision hoof pick has been a brilliant addition to our box of tools. After we received our picks we have used them on a daily basis trimming hooves. It takes the guess work out of getting accurate measurements to achieve perfect hoof balance! Cheers Sarah!

It only took one trimming day, to get me completely hooked on your hoof pick! The shape is great and the measurements are very handy. Plus, it has an added benefit I wasn't expecting: It easily slides in and out behind a hoof knife in the pocket of my chaps (without building bulk or snagging on the knife as I pull it out). That immediately fixed a little "pocket switching" issue I had going...

Pete Ramey on the Precision Pick

I can't imagine doing my hoof care work without the Precision Pick! It's such a fantastic tool. It's not only perfect for measuring, but the sides and corners are sharp enough to help scrape exfoliating sole & clean out all the cracks & crevices. Precision Pick is one of my most valuable tools! The straight edges, clear measurements & right angle make it the most useful, reliable...

Only had the rug a few days really, but just wanted to say that although I would love to be able to keep my boy rug free and completely natural, this isn't really practical and I am very pleased so far with the alternative. These are my findings after only 4 days of wear on my 24/7 turned-out holsteiner. Pros: I was fence-sitting with the size, but am pleased to note that the smaller size...

Thank the lord for the PEEWEE ! I have tried several bits over the 8 years that I have had Dewey, ( Irish sports horse) he competes at most things and is superb, the only thing is, he sticks out his tongue and doesnt like too much contact on a bit as has a very sensitive mouth.  Since having the peewee, i have had several lessons in it including a lunge lesson and he goes beautifully. I have...

Karen Foulger on the PeeWee Bit friend also tells me it's the only rug her Arab has accepted without pulling faces, which says a lot about it's comfort!

I am very pleased with the cool heat rug. It really lives up to its claims. Great product, many thanks.

My most favourite thing about them (cool heat rugs) is that both Kit and Shiraz now have the most glossy winter coats I have ever seen. Previously, I have struggled with dull scurfy coats on my rugged horses. Fingers crossed, so far no mane loss or any rug rubs. They are very lightweight and waterproof too. Yahoo another plus!! I will definitely replace all my rugs with these in time.

Kim on her New CoolHeat Rugs

I've now had one for a couple of months, and it is certainly having a test in this weather! It first went on in late October and was brilliant in the variable temperatures in November (remember when it was warm?!). I was away for a week and didn't have to worry about someone thinking about changing rugs for me. In this very cold weather I do have a 100 gram turnout over the top, as we can only...

When I first received this rug I was a little dubious about how comfortable my mare would be in it. The underside of the rug has lines of smooth, flexible plastic which hold the rug away from the coat. They are what give the rug its clever properties allowing the horse to regulate its temperature whatever the weather. My immediate doubts were quickly dispelled however as this product has proven...

Western Horse UK – Tried & Tested – CoolHeat Rug Review Vol 3, Issue 5

Sky is a horse who doesn't need a rug, and that's fine with me; I'm very happy that she lives as naturally and freely as possible whilst benefitting from the things I can do for her to make her life better like feeding her appropriately and exercising her as regularly as I can. When it comes to riding in the winter, though, I must admit I was struggling - working full time and having to devote...
